6 Mar 2008 - Teesside Archives Expansion!

2008 is set to see some very welcome developments for Teesside Archives. One is the acquisition of badly needed additional storage space. Two rooms in the adjoining part of Exchange House, recently vacated by the North East Chamber of Commerce, are to be refurbished and provided with shelves in accordance with archival standards. This will provide for our storage needs for several years. When this is completed, we shall be able to adapt a room currently used for storage as an education room.

This will be able to accommodate larger groups from schools and colleges than is possible at present, and will enable us to hold lectures and seminars. A tour will be arranged for the Friends when the improvements are hopefully completed at the AGM on the 7th May 2008.

David Tyrell – Head Archivist.
