I am trying to find the name of the owners/occupiers of Pinchinthorpe House Pinchinthorpe nr. Guisborough around the 1871 census date. The census only lists servants as resident on that day. Can anybody help?
Many Thanks

Hello from Perth in Western Australia.
I would be very grateful if somebody could clarify whether the correct spelling for Midllesborough is exactly that or is it Mddlesbrough? I am sure it was always spelled "boro" when I lived in the U.K. (30 YEARS AGO!).
If it has been changed to "brough" -when did that happen ?
any help in this matter is appreciated.
many thanks
Mal

Ivan,

If you are looking for information on Loftus you might try www.genuki.org.uk and search the area of Yorkshire or North West Riding of Yorkshire
