The Friends of Teesside Archives is a charity with the aim of:

"advancing the education of the general public by promoting, supporting and assisting in the conservation, preservation and maintenance of the archive services provided in the area covered by the former County of Cleveland"

Our volunteers index, digitise, transcribe and catalogue valuable documents for the benefit of all those who use the archives. We also help in preservation work and raise funds.

The society arranges meetings throughout the area, with speakers on a wide variety of topics. There are also visits to museums and places of historic interest.

If you have any enquiries, you can get in touch using the 'E-mail us' button.

We always welcome new members. To see how to join the society, click here

New Website

Our new website is now live. It's URL is www.friendsofteessidearchives.org.uk. For a limited time this site will continue to be available at www.friendsteesarchives.ik.com, but eventually it will be withdrawn.  Please change your bookmarks to point to the new address.

Do you need help?

If you are having problems tracing your family tree, come along to Teesside Archives on a Tuesday morning between 10 and 12.  Jim Nicholson from the Friends of Teesside Archives will be there to help you.
